Polish e-commerce market in 2009

If for any reason you are wondering over the entrance to the Polish market for electronic sales, you should read this article. And it’s also good idea to invest in translation of a report published by Sklepy24.According to the report (but it’s not the only one place this data appeared), the Poles the Internet spent over 13 billion PLN on the Internet (which is more than 3 billion of Euro). It must be remembered that a significant proportion of electronic commerce takes place on Allegro.pl (estimate is about 6 billion PLN – almost 1.5 billion of Euro)
Other data on to note:
- Most orders had shops operating in the Books and Media (23.71% of all orders)
- Delicatessen the least (1.8%).
- The highest value of the basket (578.24 PLN – 143 euros) were in Computers
- The lowest (110, 82 PLN – aboot 27 Euro) in Books and Multimedia
- Highest revenue generated stores of Electronics and Appliances (more than 2.5 billion – more than 600 million Euro)
- Lowest – Delicatessen (125 million – 31 million)
- Biggest number of online stores is in the industry operates in Home & Garden (18.49%)
- Lowest in Delicatessen (2.62%)
- The biggest number of new e-shops is dedicated to Children (26.3%)
What forms of promotion of Polish shops often use the Internet?
- Over 77% found SEO as the best method for store promotion
- Over 71% thinks presence in online shopping arcades and directories
- Nearly 60% use price engine comparision
- Over 53% use SEM (Google AdWords)
