Google makes another element to the puzzle called “dominate the entire Internet. To the most popular search engine (Google), the most popular service with video (YouTube), the most popular online maps (Google Maps), the most popular free webmail (Gmail), and many other services and applications joined another – Google Buzz. Do this website become most popular social networking site? Let’s start with the fact that Google already has extensive experience on the ground of social networking sites. The Mountain View company is the owner of social networking site Orkut, which not conquered the world, but remains the most popular social network in Brazil. Name of the project comes from the name of its creator Orkut Büyükkökten, an engineer working at Google.

In 2007,  Google and Microsoft fought for shares in Facebook. Microsoft emerged victorious in the battle.

Google is trying to re-enter the social networking sites, and runs their own project – Google Buzz. Interestingly service is integrated with Gmail in order to facilitate such contacts with friends (as opposed to other sites here do not have to build a network of friends from scratch, because I have friends with whom I correspond by Gmail).

Currently, service is made available to another Gmail users, concentrating, if you want to know how it looks, log in to your account.

If Big Brother Google is not yet launched Buzz in you, see this movie:

  1. Personally I feel that Google Buzz’s release was a little premature, especially in regards to privacy. I really think that Google’s most likely going down the same future that Windows went through around the era of Windows 98. The latest products and releases appear to be less and less thought out and I feel that rushed to attempt to be a first to market, and compete with a competitors release. The privacy issue was was a problem that didn’t require a rocket scientist to figrue out, a very basic review session would have identified such issues. Do you think Google may have received too much credit last year?
