IT Legends and their Websites
Posted on February 7, 2007 by Marek
Recently I visited the people who have permanently engraved in the history of IT. And so quite by chance I noticed that they share one thing in common.
At the beginning let’s visit the site of Rasmus Lerdorf, the creator of the PHP language – http://www.lerdorf.com
Next Sir Timothy Berners-Lee, the man regarded as the creator of Web – http://www.w3.org/People/Berners-Lee
Larry Wall, the author of Perl – http://www.wall.org/~larry
Bjarne Stroustrup – created C++ – http://www.research.att.com/~bs/homepage.html
Guido van Rossum – author of Python – http://www.python.org/~guido
Richard Stallman – the founder of GNU Project and Free Software Foundation, co-founder of the GNU GPL – http://www.stallman.org
Now, all of the aforementioned websites are extremely simple, they look as if time stopped around the year 1999. This is interesting especially that those gentlemen did not have the slightest problem with the creation of website which is more advanced.
On the other hand, it comes after the content rather than fireworks.
